Overview:
Around 36% of the reported injuries at work leading to absences of over 3 days are attributable to load handling accidents. For the learner this is highly significant since such accidents and absences lead to potential loss of earnings, missed opportunities and usually significant pain or discomfort. By covering the relevant physiology and how to reduce or eliminate the likelihood of injury in different work environments, this course will help the learner to avoid joining future Health and Safety Executive injury statistics.
What does this mean to the learner’s company?
The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 require employers to remove or, where this is not possible, reduce the risks arising from manual handling tasks. Successful completion of this course will enable the learner to assess risks and adopt safe working practices in line with the requirements of the Regulations.
