Projects comprise many different activities that need to be done at different times. Planning a project successfully could depend on how well you define and organize those activities. This tutorial teaches you how to plan your project and present that plan visually - skills that improve your chance of success.

Effective project planning begins with an accurate definition of your activities. In this tutorial, you will learn how to convert the work breakdown structure (WBS) into a project activity list. An activity list shows you exactly what you have to do to create each deliverable of your work breakdown structure.

While accurately defining activities is very important, planning also involves working out the relationships between activities and scheduling starting dates and durations for each. You will learn how to work out the logical relationships between activities by developing a project network diagram. Finally, you will learn to show your project schedule in a visual format that is easy for everyone to read - a Gantt chart.
