Overview:

Very often an individual will feel stressed, exhibit the symptoms and suffer the effects without being able to pinpoint the cause or causes. By assessing the risks associated with work-related stress the individual is able to focus on specific action to reduce or remove the risk and/or combat its effects.

What does this mean to the learner’s company?

The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 requires the employer to maintain a safe and healthy working environment, and this requirement extends to cover potentially stressful working conditions. A risk assessment that helps with early identification of potential stressors is, therefore, a powerful tool in complying with health and safety law.

Objectives:

The aim of this product is to enable the leaner to identify potential work-related stressors.

The risk assessment covers:

  • Organisational culture
  • Job demands
  • Job control
  • Relationships
  • Change
  • Job role
  • Support, training and individual factors

  • Aim of the Assessment

This risk assessment will enable individuals, managers and/or health and safety representatives to identify potential work-related stressors, so allowing early action to reduce or remove them.
